Maungaturoto is a small rural community in the Kaipara District of the Northland Region with 800+ people living here. Maungaturoto is centrally located and makes a good starting point for day trips to Dargaville, Wellsford and Whangarei. It is also close to the safe beaches of the Kaipara Harbour. Pahi is a nice spot, just 18km from Maungaturoto. The beach is good for swimming and all types of water sports. Whakapirau is a popular location and is just 15km from Maungaturoto. Mangawhai is on the East Coast and only 20km from Maungaturoto.
